What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners in order to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information. Cookies set by the website owner are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third-party cookies”. Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g. advertising, interactive content, and analytics). The parties that set these third party cookies can recognise your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites.

Cookies are a sensitive topic, especially in Europe, where they have deemed borderline illegal under the GDPR rules set out by the European Commission. In according to the law, and because we value the privacy of all our users, and because we just think it's plain wrong to install these, to stalk you all over the internet and sell you ads, we have devided not to use any cookies on our websites, apps or any product we run at Presso Network. You safety and privacy is our priority. Even if it means we might lose out on some sales, we chose privacy any day.

Why don't we use cookies?

Presso Network have chosen not to use first and third party cookies in any of our products or service for several reasons. Cookies enable website owners to track and target Users across the web - we think that is wrong. Third parties serve cookies through our Online Properties for advertising, analytics and other purposes, we don't want that either. How this works is described in more detail below. Please note that Presso doens not install or gather any Cookies or information specific to your visit on any Presso Property.

Does Presso use cookies or any other tracking technology to gather personal information about me?

No. Presso does not use cookies or any kind of tracking technology on any of our sites nor in any of our products. The only personal identifiable information we gather, is the information that you voluntary provide to us through submission forms, email newsletter and through specific consent, like quote request and contracts

What about other tracking technologies, like web beacons?

No. Cookies are not the only way to recognise or track visitors to a website. Web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”) are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable website owners to recognise when someone has visited their Online Properties or taken an action in relation to their Online Properties. For the ovoidance of doubt, like cookies, we do not use any web beacons, tracking pixels or clear gifs. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly. As a result, declining cookies will impair their functioning.

Does Presso allow for Social Networking Cookies?

No. We do not track any cross-site cookies. The only thing we can see, is what is referred to as referrers, which basically means that we can see how many people found our site through Social Media, Google, Bing, etc. These cookies are often used by websites owners for advertising purposes by those social networks. The best way to refuse these cookies is to turn off the social options when vising any websites or apps.

What about Flash Cookies or Local Shared Objects?

No. Many Online Properties may also use so-called “Flash Cookies” (also known as Local Shared Objects or “LSOs”) to, among other things, collect and store information about your use of their Services. If you do not want Flash Cookies stored on your computer, you can adjust the settings of your Flash player to block Flash Cookies storage using the tools contained in the Website Storage Settings Panel. You can also control Flash Cookies by going to the Global Storage Settings Panel and following the instructions (which may include instructions that explain, for example, how to delete existing Flash Cookies (referred to “information” on the Macromedia site), how to prevent Flash LSOs from being placed on your computer without your being asked, and (for Flash Player 8 and later) how to block Flash Cookies that are not being delivered by the operator of the page you are on at the time). Please note that setting the Flash Player to restrict or limit acceptance of Flash Cookies may reduce or impede the functionality of some Flash applications, including, potentially, Flash applications used in connection with Online Properties.

What about targeted advertising?

No.. We do not offer you 3rd party advertising on Online Properties, however, organisers selling tickets to events on Online Properties may use information about your visits to Online Properties and other websites in order to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services in which you may be interested. Organisers may also employ technology that is used to measure the effectiveness of advertisements. This can be accomplished by them using cookies or web beacons to collect information about your visits to Online Properties and other sites in order to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services of potential interest to you. The information collected through this process does not enable them to identify your name, contact details or other personally identifying details unless you choose to provide these.

How can I control cookies?

At Presso we do not use cookies, but we staill want you to know your rights regarding cookies - you have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can exercise your cookie preferences by clicking on the appropriate opt-out links provided in the cookie consent banners, if they show it (if they don't show it and still gather cookies, they are in violation of GDPR and you should act with caution when visiting thos providers or agencies), or you can set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies. If you choose to reject cookies via your browser, you may still use Online Properties through your access to some functionality may be restricted. As the means by which you can refuse cookies through your web browser controls vary from browser-to-browser, you should visit your browser's help menu for more information.

We may update this Cookie Statement from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies, legal or regulatory reasons. Please, therefore, re-visit this Cookie Statement regularly to stay informed about the use of cookies and related technologies.
